The National Police is divided into five areas that are staffed with administrative personnel, attorneys, police offi cers and many others in charge of, for example, budgets and accounts, IT and tele-related duties, police equipment and vehicles, personnel and education and training, as well as press and information tasks.
The National Police also includes areas known as operative departments engaged in investigation into IT crime, forensic tech-nical investigations, road traffic tasks, and the surveillance of environments involving drugs, bikers, gangs and prostitution as well as international cooperation with the police in other countries.
The National police and the police Districts
It is also from the National Police that individual police districts can request assistance for various investigations and special duties. The National Police draws up the general framework for the entire police service. The National Commissioner meets regularly with the 12 Commissioners who are the chief executive offi cers of the 12 police districts in the country. The forum is known as the Group Management, and the participants discuss important issues regarding the work and duties of the police.
